How we run a software project from idea to launch

Most projects that fail do not fail on technology. They fail because nobody agreed on what "done" means, decisions were made too late, or the team building the product never met the people who use it. Over the years we settled on a simple, five-step cycle that keeps everyone honest. Here is what happens in each step.

1. Discovery & planning

We start with a workshop, remote or at our office in Regensdorf. We map who uses the product, what they need to achieve and where the current process breaks. The output is short: a scope document, a prioritised backlog and a first estimate you can plan a budget around.

2. Design & prototyping

Before writing production code we build a clickable prototype of the key screens. It is the cheapest moment to change your mind, so we encourage it. Sports-betting lobbies, patient portals or ERP dashboards all have one thing in common: the flow has to be obvious to a first-time user.

3. Development

We work in two-week iterations. Every iteration ends with a demo of running software on a staging environment, not a slide deck. You see progress, we get feedback while it is still cheap to act on it.

4. Testing & quality assurance

Automated tests cover the critical paths, and a human tests the rest on real devices. For regulated domains such as iGaming or healthcare we also prepare the documentation your auditors will ask for.

5. Deployment & maintenance

Go-live is a checklist, not an event: monitoring, backups, rollback plan, and a person on call. Afterwards we stay on board for maintenance and the next iterations, or hand over to your team with documentation and training.
